Es Canar is on Ibiza’s east coast, in the municipality of Santa Eulària des Riu. It is a practical base for beach days, craft shopping and trips around the island. Three beaches to plan your days around
Es Canar beach
Start with the beach in Es Canar itself and combine swimming with a stroll around the small harbour. This is an option for a local day without spending most of it travelling.
Cala Nova
An alternative north of Es Canar for coastal scenery and a meal by the sea. Waves and currents can occur: check beach flags and lifeguards’ instructions before swimming.
Cala Martina
South of Es Canar, beside Punta Arabí, you can combine a beach day with the market when it is open. If you want to try a water activity, confirm conditions and availability with the operator.
Shopping and markets near Es Canar
The Punta Arabí Hippy Market brings together crafts, clothing, accessories and food. Its usual schedule is Wednesdays from April to October; check the official calendar for your date before planning a visit.
Las Dalias, in the Sant Carles area, is another craft-shopping trip. Opening days and times vary by month, so check its calendar. For everyday shopping, ask reception about suitable shops open during your stay.
Where to eat: two options at Cala Nova
Aiyanna, at the northern end of Cala Nova, offers Mediterranean food by the sea. Atzaró Beach is another choice beside this beach. Check menus, prices, opening dates and reservations with each restaurant; these are examples, not services included with your stay.
A relaxed three-day plan
- Day 1 · Es Canar. Settle in, explore the harbour area and leave time for the beach and the views from your accommodation.
- Day 2 · Cala Nova. Plan a beach day and a seaside lunch. If sea conditions are unsuitable, swap swimming for a visit to Santa Eulalia.
- Day 3 · Punta Arabí and Cala Martina. Combine the beach and market if it is open; otherwise spend the day in Sant Carles and check the Las Dalias calendar.

No. Es Canar is in Santa Eulària des Riu, on the east coast. Sant Antoni de Portmany is in a different area of the island. When booking transport, specify Zodiac Apartments, Avenida Punta Arabí 65, Es Canar.
Can I enjoy Es Canar without a car?
You can spend several days exploring the local area. For other parts of Ibiza, check connections and timetables or book a taxi. The best choice depends on your trips, dates and mobility needs.
